About the role#
TechInsights is seeking a Software Development Co-op student to join the team for the Fall 2026 term. Reporting to the Agile Development Manager, you will collaborate with architecture and development teams to design and engineer solutions that deliver customer value. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers to quantify technical risks, participate in engineering discussions, and contribute to the ongoing development of the platform.
What you'll do#
- Participate in software system design and identify technology stacks.
- Implement front-end and back-end software solutions.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code to support system deployment.
- Provide real-time DevOps support through bug triage and troubleshooting.
- Develop proof-of-concept models to validate design concepts and de-risk technical approaches.
- Contribute to platform observability by emitting telemetry and monitoring events.
- Maintain peer-reviewed technical documentation and record intellectual property related to the software platform.
- Review platform architecture and provide feedback to ensure reliability and code quality.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing post-secondary education in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience developing software programs and knowledge of software concepts.
- Background in building technical integrated products, ideally in a SaaS environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to set realistic commitments and manage them through to completion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position based on-site at the TechInsights office in Ottawa, Ontario.
- The term for this role is Fall 2026.
