About the role#
This is a 6-month full-time internship and co-op assignment beginning in January 2027. You will work within the Power Solutions team to design and implement production automation software for the semiconductor and thin film markets. You will report to the Operations Software Team Lead and engage with engineering and technical operations teams.
What you'll do#
- Maintain existing automation platforms to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Support new automation development initiatives and critical projects.
- Design and develop embedded systems for production automation.
- Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams on the deployment of new production software.
- Perform root cause analysis on software failures and lead corrective action efforts.
- Create engineering documentation, including schematics, mechanical drawings, and software manuals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or software engineering.
- Knowledge of C or C++.
- Familiarity with Python and a .NET-based language like C# or VB.NET.
- Ability to solve complex automation and software development problems.
- Experience creating or reading electrical schematics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for an international, team-oriented environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Rochester, New York.
- Term: Winter 2027 (6-month assignment).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $22.00 to $29.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Interns working at least 20 hours per week receive 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 days of accrued paid vacation.
