About the role#
TechInsights is seeking a QA Test Automation Co-op Student to join the team for the Fall 2026 term. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in quality assurance and software development within the semiconductor industry. You will work directly with our software development teams to enhance testing processes and contribute to the quality of the TechInsights Platform.
What you'll do#
- Design and execute automated test scripts to support functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Collaborate with software development teams to understand project requirements and create comprehensive test cases.
- Execute tests and analyze results to identify defects, ensuring software meets quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis for identified issues and work with developers to implement corrective actions.
- Design and implement automated tools to generate reports and interactive dashboards that provide insights into QA performance, test results, and defect trends.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year university student in Computer Science, Data Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Programming proficiency in Python, Java, or other scripting languages.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle and version control systems, specifically Git.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid co-op position located on-site in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Candidates will be required to submit citizenship or permanent residency information to comply with U.S. Export Control Laws and Regulations.
