About the role#
This paid, full-time internship is a 40-hour-per-week, hands-on training program designed to prepare you for store leadership. As a Store Executive Intern, you will receive a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader (Assistant Store Manager) role. You will work closely with mentors and other managers to understand retail business operations, develop leadership skills, and contribute to store goals. The program focuses on your professional development through ongoing feedback and active participation in daily store management.
What you'll do#
- Spend your days on the salesfloor and in the backroom leading team members and aligning on daily business priorities.
- Learn how to drive guest experience and impact the store's financial, team, and operational performance.
- Work alongside an Executive Team Leader mentor to learn effective department management.
- Lead and support daily operations, including stocking shelves, building displays, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.
- Partner with leaders to provide performance feedback, coach team members, and address team member concerns.
- Plan daily goals, organize work plans, and lead huddles with the leadership team.
- Review business reporting and guest insights to troubleshoot and improve performance.
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and secure culture while demonstrating ethical conduct.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in working in retail management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and team-oriented thinking.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to technology needs.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to access all areas of the building, climb ladders, and frequently lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Majors preferred: Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Communications, or Psychology.
