About the role#
This paid, full-time internship is a 40-hour-per-week, hands-on training program designed to prepare you for store leadership. Over the course of the summer, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role by working closely with mentors and store managers. You will develop an understanding of retail business fundamentals while leading teams and driving store priorities.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support daily operations by working alongside team members in the salesfloor and backroom.
- Partner with store leaders to manage team member performance through coaching, training, and feedback.
- Drive guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and empowered to assist guests.
- Participate in internship program training activities, developmental opportunities, and events.
- Plan daily goals and organize department workloads to support business priorities.
- Present at daily huddles and provide summaries of results to the leadership team.
- Address team member concerns and remove operational hurdles to ensure goal attainment.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in retail management.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage workloads and prioritize tasks independently.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to operate store technology, handle cash register operations, and climb ladders.
- Physical ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise, including frequently lifting or moving items up to 44 pounds.
