About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience working alongside Operations Specialists and Technicians. You will gain exposure to the installation, operation, and maintenance of energy infrastructure, including pipelines, compressor stations, and related facilities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Grand Island, Nebraska.
What you'll do#
- Operate and maintain equipment including compressors, engines, turbines, motors, pumps, valves, and seals.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and assist in diagnosing and repairing instruments and mechanical systems.
- Handle general facility upkeep and maintenance tasks.
- Learn technical activities related to electrical, measurement, and control integrity, such as design, installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Develop Operations and Maintenance procedures, work plans, and project scopes.
- Participate in safety programs and maintain accurate documentation and records.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma.
- Active enrollment in or recent completion (within 3 months) of a relevant technical or associate degree program, such as Mechanics, Energy, Construction, Industrial Electrician, or Measurement.
- Experience using MS Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform basic repairs using special tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn measurement and control equipment.
- Understanding of schematics, engineering drawings, and technical reports.
- Ability to collect, organize, and present data accurately.
- Strong focus on safe work practices and a commitment to the safety of employees and company assets.
- Ability to take direction, follow work rules, and maintain a consistent schedule.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, work from elevated platforms or ladders, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must clear a drug screen and background check.

- Location: Grand Island, Nebraska.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $30.60 per hour, plus potential for paid time off and a housing stipend.
- Duration: 10 weeks, May through August 2026.
