About the role#
As a Project Engineer Intern, you will join our team for a 12-week program during the summer of 2027. You will collaborate on the management and execution of heavy civil and highway construction projects to ensure they are completed safely and profitably. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires travel between project sites and the corporate office.
What you'll do#
- Support the project management team with subcontractor and supplier coordination.
- Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Track materials, maintain files, and generate progress reports.
- Learn project management functions such as estimating, schedule planning, and project controls.
- Review and interpret construction plans.
- Interact with clients, managers, and employees with professionalism.
- Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be taking at least one class in the semester or quarter immediately preceding the internship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong time management skills.
- Knowledge of route surveying and scheduling.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude, ethical conduct, and a focus on teamwork.
- A valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the assigned project office.
