About the role#
The Segregated Funds Financial Management team handles daily valuation, accounting control, and financial reporting for over 500 funds. As a Financial Analyst student, you will gain exposure to IFRS financial statements, annual reporting, and internal control evaluations. This position runs from January 2027 to April 2027 and is open to students graduating in April 2027 or later.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax forms for more than 300 segregated funds by reconciling fund manager data against sub-ledger records.
- Draft over 250 segregated fund financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including assistance with note disclosures.
- Create audit working papers and support year-end tax and financial statement functions.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting requirements, including reconciliations and regulatory filings.
- Identify and analyze deficiencies in the control environment, then help implement improvements for efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years of a post-secondary business degree program in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well within a team.
- A self-motivated and adaptable approach to tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is an asset.
