About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Group Life and Disability team to help manage disability claims. This role is open to students graduating in April 2027 or later, with majors in Health Administration, Public Health, Psychology, Nursing, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Kinesiology.
What you'll do#
- Support Disability Case Managers in the management and resolution of disability claims.
- Conduct telephone interviews to gather information regarding absences and recovery plans.
- Engage with clients through respectful verbal and written communication to understand their medical, social, and personal situations.
- Identify and assess medical and non-medical factors that influence disability and functional capability.
- Collaborate on the development of outcome-focused case management plans to assist plan members in returning to work.
