About the role#
As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will support engineers and designers on projects involving site development, transportation, utilities, grading, and drainage. You will gain hands-on experience with civil design tools, technical documentation, field conditions, and project delivery while contributing to active assignments under the guidance of experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with civil drawings, calculations, reports, data collection, and other project documentation.
- Support grading, drainage, utility, roadway, and site layout design and coordination.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of relevant engineering, design, or technical coursework.
- A basic understanding of civil engineering principles.
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with grading, drainage, utilities, transportation, or site development concepts is preferred.
- Previous internship, co-op, or project experience related to civil engineering is a plus.
- Involvement in ASCE or related engineering organizations is a plus.

- This position is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
