About the role#
StepStone is seeking undergraduate students graduating between December 2027 and June 2028 to join the Private Equity team as Summer Analysts. This role provides hands-on experience in analyzing leveraged buyouts, growth equity, and distressed private equity funds. You will develop an understanding of diverse industries, capital structures, and investment strategies while working in a collaborative team environment.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and conduct diligence on co-investment opportunities and secondary transactions.
- Interact with fund managers and portfolio company management teams to perform asset-level underwriting and analysis.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and financial modeling across various stages, industries, and geographies.
- Evaluate potential fund investments, including team, strategy, and performance, and synthesize findings into investment memorandums for the Investment Committee.
- Speak with senior executives to gather insights on the effectiveness of target fund managers.
- Perform market research using proprietary databases to identify and analyze macroeconomic trends.
- Construct and communicate clear investment arguments.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate student status with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- A minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Ability to work legally in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrable analytical and quantitative modeling capabilities.
- A collaborative and proactive mindset.
- Academic background in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
