About the role#
StepStone is seeking undergraduate students to join the Private Debt team as Summer Analysts. This role provides exposure to the private debt industry, including direct lending, opportunistic lending, and specialty finance. Interns will work across various capital structures and investment strategies while gaining experience with top fund managers in the private credit sector.
What you'll do#
- Interpret financial analyses from target fund managers, such as investment track records and financial statements.
- Conduct market research using proprietary databases and public information to analyze macroeconomic trends.
- Assist senior research staff in managing and tracking incoming investment opportunities.
- Evaluate marketing and supporting materials from prospective fund managers to identify key value drivers.
- Write Fund Summaries and Investment Memorandums in accordance with firm standards.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of existing fund managers and underlying investments.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrable analytical capabilities, including quantitative and modeling skills.
- Ability to work legally in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.
