About the role#
This is a summer 2027 internship based in Roanoke, Virginia. You will work in the Engineering Department to balance office-based design work with hands-on industrial tasks. This position is full-time, paid, and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Support operations and projects by applying engineering principles in both office and industrial settings.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and write reports on your findings.
- Collaborate with engineers and operations staff to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Identify trends to recommend improvements and develop trials based on operational needs.
- Work directly with mechanical systems and assist with maintenance tasks alongside operators.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of maintenance.
- Comfort performing hands-on work in an industrial environment.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with operators.
