About the role#
This is a year-round internship based in Fostoria, Ohio. You will gain hands-on experience by working on real-world manufacturing projects, interpreting technical schematics, and applying machine safety and process improvement principles. You will work alongside our team to strengthen your technical skills through mentorship and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Update plant layouts and P&ID drawings to support ongoing engineering and maintenance projects.
- Design and modify parts in AutoCAD for fabrication by local vendors.
- Partner with the Maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment issues and identify the root causes of failures.
- Organize and maintain mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
- Support process improvement initiatives that focus on efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors on plant projects and equipment improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Preferred: Experience with AutoCAD, advanced Excel and analyst skills, and exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools.

- Location: Fostoria, Ohio.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours per week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer.
- Terms: Winter, Summer, and Fall 2027.
- This is a paid position.
