    About the role#

    As a Process Engineer Intern at Charter Steel, you will gain hands-on experience supporting our manufacturing operations. You will work within our draw departments to improve production efficiency and product quality. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to solve real-world engineering challenges and drive operational excellence.

    What you'll do#

    • Support manufacturing operations through root cause analysis, data collection, and statistical analysis.
    • Assist in the implementation of standards and Lean continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Perform time studies and work directly with operators to improve processes.
    • Identify root causes of production issues.
    • Conduct process analysis and optimization.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Current status of at least a Sophomore standing.
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and succeed in a team environment.
    • Basic Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma skills.
    • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Saukville, Wisconsin.
    • Schedule: This is a year-round position. It requires 15 to 20 hours per week during the academic year and 40 hours per week during the summer of 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship. Please note that internship positions are not benefits-eligible.
