About the role#
As a Water Co-op Student, you will join our team to support water infrastructure projects. You will gain exposure to the planning, design, and construction of systems such as water and wastewater plants, pump stations, and distribution networks. This position is for the Winter 2027 term and runs for 4 to 8 months.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project administration, including writing reports, drafting proposals and correspondence, tracking costs, and completing progress reports.
- Support technical staff by researching, compiling, and evaluating project data.
- Perform calculations for water and wastewater treatment, sewer, or tunnel design projects.
- Complete computer data entry and gain exposure to CAD, GIS, and design software.
- Research information and contact vendors as needed.
- Complete other engineering and administrative tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Specific coursework or exposure to the planning, design, or construction of water and wastewater systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and take direction.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations, policies, and programs is an asset.

- Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

- Employment: Full-time, paid position.
- Environment: Typical office setting with computer work. Field work may involve exposure to the elements.
