About the role#
As a Mechanical-Fluids Intern, you will work alongside engineering teams on spacecraft hardware. This hands-on role involves contributing to the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical structures and fluid handling systems critical to mission success. You will collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers while contributing to documentation, test reports, and design reviews.
What you'll do#
- Support mechanical design and CAD modeling for spacecraft components and assemblies.
- Assist with fluid system layout, plumbing, and component selection.
- Build and maintain test setups, ground support equipment, and fluid test benches.
- Support structural, thermal, and fluid analysis tasks.
- Assist with the assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical and fluid hardware.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or Fusion 360.
- Basic understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and statics.
- Eagerness to learn and work in a startup environment.
- Strong first-principles thinking and the ability to solve problems with limited data.
- Hands-on experience with personal or academic mechanical or fluid projects.
- Familiarity with FEA or CFD tools, plus experience with machining, 3D printing, or prototyping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Modality: On-site at the Ottawa facility.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
- Note: Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones.
