As a Mechanical-Fluids Intern, you will work alongside mechanical and fluid systems engineering teams on real spacecraft hardware. This is a hands-on position focused on the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical structures and fluid handling systems for space missions.
What you'll do#
- Support mechanical design and CAD modeling for spacecraft components and assemblies.
- Assist with fluid system layout, plumbing, and component selection.
- Build and maintain test setups, ground support equipment, and fluid test benches.
- Support structural, thermal, and fluid analysis tasks.
- Assist with the assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical and fluid hardware.
- Contribute to documentation, test reports, and design reviews.
- Collaborate across electrical, software, and systems engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or Fusion 360.
- A basic understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and statics.
- A creative approach to problem-solving and first-principles thinking.
- Hands-on experience with personal or academic mechanical or fluid projects.
- Familiarity with FEA or CFD tools, plus experience with machining, 3D printing, or prototyping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time role requiring physical presence at the Ottawa facility.
- Note: Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones.
