Electrical Intern (Fall 26)

About the role#

As an Electrical Intern, you will work directly with the electrical engineering team on spacecraft hardware. This is a hands-on position focused on the design, testing, and integration of electronic systems for upcoming missions. You will contribute to core engineering tasks and collaborate across mechanical, software, and systems teams.

What you'll do#

• Support schematic capture and PCB layout for spacecraft avionics.
• Assist with harness design, wiring, and system integration.
• Help bring up, test, and debug electronic boards and subsystems.
• Conduct electrical testing, including power, signal integrity, and functional verification.
• Assist with lab setup, instrumentation, and the maintenance of test equipment.
• Contribute to technical documentation, test reports, and design reviews.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with basic electronics, circuit analysis, and lab instrumentation.
• Exposure to at least one programming language, such as Python, C, or C++.
• Hands-on experience with personal or academic electronics projects.
• Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools like Altium or KiCad.
• Experience with microcontrollers, sensors, or embedded systems.
• Comfort using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other lab test equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends to support critical project and mission milestones.
