About the role#
Spaceium is building spacecraft systems for orbit. As an Electrical Intern, you will work on real spacecraft hardware alongside our engineering team. This is a hands-on position where you contribute directly to the design, testing, and integration of electrical systems for our upcoming missions.
What you'll do#
- Support schematic capture and PCB layout for spacecraft avionics.
- Assist with harness design, wiring, and integration.
- Help bring up, test, and debug electronic boards and subsystems.
- Run electrical tests including power, signal integrity, and functional verification.
- Contribute to documentation, test reports, and design reviews.
- Assist with lab setup and the maintenance of test equipment.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science.
- Familiarity with basic electronics, circuit analysis, and lab instrumentation.
- Experience with at least one programming language, such as Python, C, or C++.
- Comfort using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other lab test equipment.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools like Altium or KiCad.
- Experience with microcontrollers, sensors, or embedded systems.
- A creative approach to problem solving and first-principles thinking.
- Hands-on experience with personal or academic electronics projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: This is an on-site role at our Ottawa facility.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Status: Full-time and paid.
- Note: Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones.
