About the role#
This is a 4-month internship for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. You will work within the Group Risk Management team as a Valuation Actuarial Intern. This position is full-time and based in Mississauga, Ontario. You will gain exposure to pricing, valuation, and risk management while working alongside actuarial and non-actuarial colleagues.
What you'll do#
- Create pricing and valuation models for complex products from an actuarial perspective.
- Validate key assumptions and use business insights to identify market trends and opportunities.
- Use software including AXIS, R, SQL, and MS Excel to produce and analyze results.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly valuation reporting and share findings with management.
- Support monthly and quarterly capital measurement analysis.
- Develop and maintain tools to improve process efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a university degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics.
- 2-3 CAS/SOA exams completed.
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter mindset and the ability to work well in a team.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Mississauga, Ontario.
- The position is a paid, full-time, 4-month student placement.
- Work arrangements including hybrid, on-site, or remote options will be discussed with the hiring manager.
- To be eligible, you must be returning to school after the work term or require this placement as a mandatory component for graduation.
