About the role#
Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a Computer Vision Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027. You will join the Strategic Military Space Division to support the development of space, airborne, and ground-based systems. This position involves working with engineers and mentors on professional-level assignments that build on your academic studies.
What you'll do#
- Design, port, build, and test computer vision algorithms for small satellites, including pose estimation.
- Analyze the performance of these algorithms.
- Document your analysis results.
- Present findings to the team.
What you'll need#
- Senior or graduate student status pursuing a degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Experience or understanding of pose estimation, object tracking, structure from motion, or object segmentation.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or C/C++.
- Experience with team collaboration tools like Confluence, Jira, or Bitbucket.
- Strong initiative and the ability to work independently or within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
