REACH Crisis Services Client Advocate

About the role#

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to serve as a Client Advocate for REACH Crisis Services in Manchester, New Hampshire. This role provides direct support to victims of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. Advocates use an empowerment model to offer information, resources, and personal advocacy. This is a paid, part-time position available to students with work-study eligibility.

What you'll do#

• Respond to clients in crisis, help them identify problems, and support them in making their own decisions.
• Assist families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault in securing safe, permanent housing.
• Support internal housing programs, including Housing Access, shelter, and rapid rehousing initiatives.
• Help families set financial goals and create plans to achieve permanent housing.
• Review needs assessments and individual service plans for residents to track their progress.
• Document all direct service activities and maintain required agency records.
• Collaborate with staff and attend outreach or tabling events as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a SNHU degree program.
• Work-study eligibility as part of your financial aid package.
• Successful completion of the Crisis Intervention Advocacy training (minimum 30 hours).
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and intervene appropriately in crisis situations.

• Location: Manchester, New Hampshire.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Flexible hours between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
• Compensation: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour.
