Student - Learn to Be Virtual Tutor (Work-Study Only)

About the role#

Southern New Hampshire University is hiring students for a virtual tutoring position in partnership with Learn to Be. This is a remote role where you provide one-on-one academic support to students. You have the flexibility to set your own schedule, choose your preferred subjects and grade levels, and select the students you work with. No prior teaching experience is required.

What you'll do#

• Host tutoring sessions at least once a week for 60 minutes with each student.
• Support students with homework help, test preparation, and study skills.
• Maintain a responsive line of communication with your student and their parent or guardian.
• Act as a mentor to your assigned students.
• Conduct sessions over Zoom, which are recorded for safety and quality assurance.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a SNHU degree program.
• A Federal Work-Study award as part of your financial aid package.
• Ability to pass a DOJ Dru Sjodin Sex Offender Database background check.
• Reliable access to a device with internet and a working webcam.
• Completion of the Learn To Be FWS Tutor onboarding process.

• This role is fully remote.
• You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming.
• The pay range is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour.
