About the role#
As an Elementary Math Tutor with Communities In Schools of the Heart of Texas, you will support students with their math coursework and homework. This role involves working closely with CIS staff to ensure program objectives are met while maintaining clear documentation of student progress. You will report to the tutoring manager to coordinate schedules and attend necessary training sessions.
What you'll do#
- Assist students with math homework and academic support.
- Coordinate scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of services with the tutoring manager.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students and CIS staff.
- Keep accurate and complete service logs for every student.
- Attend required meetings and professional training sessions.
- Follow CIS and district policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baylor University.
- Federal work study eligibility.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computers and time management.
- Ability to clear a criminal background check.
- Reliable transportation to the work site.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.

- This position is based in Waco, Texas.
- Work is performed on-site at the Communities In Schools of the Heart of Texas office.
- The role is paid and follows a flexible schedule between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
