About the role#
This internship offers students the chance to work within our Turbofab Manufacturing and Welding process teams. You will collaborate with Manufacturing and Design Engineers, Shop Operations, Tool Design, and CAD/CAM groups. The program lasts approximately three months, with placements determined by your background, interests, and current business needs. Assignments may include work in areas such as warehouse operations, fabrication, machining, welding, or assembly. Each intern is assigned a mentor to provide guidance throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Develop and execute stable, cost-effective manufacturing processes.
- Support a work environment focused on safety and quality.
- Collaborate with engineering professionals on new technology projects.
- Participate in training sessions covering Lean, Creo/PDM, and Navisworks.
- Tour local production facilities and attend departmental networking events.
- Present your internship experience to staff at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Manufacturing Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Academic standing as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior planning for graduate school, or current graduate student.
- A minimum overall GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
- Previous internship or co-operative experience is preferred.
- A high energy level and a sense of urgency.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Channelview, Texas.
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position requiring attendance five days a week.
- The program takes place during the Summer of 2027.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
