About the role#
As a Robotics Software Engineering Intern, you will join the Robotics New Product Development team. You will contribute to the creation of next generation surgical robotics products. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Please note that this position does not provide visa sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the full software development life-cycle, including requirements review, design, implementation, and testing.
- Work alongside managers and mentors to complete specific internship projects.
- Present your project findings and conclusions to senior leadership.
- Create technical documentation in accordance with the Robotics Quality Management System.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project completion.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or graduation within the last year as an undergraduate in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Experience with C++ and other object-oriented languages is preferred.
- Ability to describe designs using UML.
- Strong communication skills, including technical writing, listening, and speaking.
- Ability to assess technical issues and develop solutions using an analytical approach.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Previous internship, co-op, or apprenticeship experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.
