About the role#
Amperesand is building a modern ERP and manufacturing operations platform to support our work in power infrastructure. This internship offers the chance to build production software across the full stack while working with a startup engineering team. You will contribute to new features, improve system reliability, and integrate AI capabilities into our internal tools. You will work alongside engineers and product stakeholders who rely on our platform to manage business operations.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain full stack features using Go for backend services and TypeScript with React for frontend applications.
- Design and implement AI-enabled features to improve how users interact with our platform.
- Support observability and metrics by instrumenting services and building dashboards to improve system visibility.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to increase release speed.
- Collaborate with teams to define APIs and data contracts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by internal and external users.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
- Document features, architectural decisions, and processes for other teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Go for backend development.
- Experience with TypeScript and React, including component-based development and state management.
- Exposure to AI/LLM concepts or hands-on experience with model training, fine-tuning, or applied AI tooling.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and client-server architecture.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- This role is on-site only. We do not offer remote or hybrid options.
- Locations: Reno, Nevada, or San Francisco, California.

Amperesand produces medium voltage power conversion technology for industrial loads and AI datacenters. The company uses solid state transformers paired with software controls to manage power infrastructure. It originated as a spin-out from the Energy Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Founded in 2023, the firm maintains a staff of 11 to 50 people.
