About the role#
As a Co-op ASIC Digital Verification Engineer, you will be part of the systems team working on new devices before they reach customers. You will focus on timing and high-speed signal disciplines for applications like wireless communications, data centers, and automotive infotainment. This role involves hands-on work with analog and digital embedded systems, debugging, and root cause analysis.
What you'll do#
- Perform device bring-up for new products and verify they are communicating correctly.
- Manage PCB design and ensure proper connectivity for power and signal lines.
- Collect and analyze characterization data to define datasheet metrics.
- Confirm device adherence to product requirements and specifications.
- Design and implement automated tests using Python and lab equipment.
- Collaborate on Gitlab projects and contribute to device drivers during pre-silicon development.
- Handle rework of surface mount components, specifically 0402 and 0201 sizes, and through-hole components.
- Prototype board improvements and document findings through report writing.
What you'll need#
- Currently in your 3rd year or higher of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an adjacent field.
- Proficiency in English for professional communication and collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment including power supplies, frequency counters, generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Skills in Python-based object-oriented programming.
- Understanding of transmission line theory, circuit design, and debugging.
- Ability to solder surface mount components down to 0201 size.
