About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to gain experience in modern, multi-platform journalism within the ARC news concept at WHAM. Interns will participate in the daily operations of a newsroom, contributing to storytelling that informs the local community. This is a paid, on-site position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in the newsroom and in the field.
- Pitch fresh story ideas and help shape coverage.
- Learn to shoot video and frame compelling visuals.
- Gain exposure to control room operations and the production of live broadcasts.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be at least a sophomore currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Political Science, or Sociology.

- Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
- Commitment: Approximately 15 hours per week for 10 weeks.
