About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a newsroom environment. Interns will contribute to the ARC news concept, which focuses on authentic, relevant, and community-driven storytelling through updated styles, graphics, and music. This is a paid, 10-week program designed for students or recent graduates interested in broadcast and digital journalism.
What you'll do#
- Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Work directly with reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in the newsroom and in the field.
- Pitch fresh story ideas and help shape coverage for the local community.
- Learn to shoot video and frame visuals for news segments.
- Gain experience with control room operations and the production of live broadcasts.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate.
- Preferred majors include Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, English, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, or Business Administration.
- Passion for local news, storytelling, and community impact.
- Ability to work on-site for approximately 15 hours per week.
- Reliable transportation, as housing and relocation assistance are not provided.

- Term: Fall 2026.
- Commitment: 10 weeks, approximately 15 hours per week.
