About the role#
As a Systems Security Engineer I, you will help design, implement, and maintain secure operating systems, networks, and applications. You will protect our IT infrastructure by conducting vulnerability assessments, performing digital forensics, and responding to security incidents. This role supports the Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Aviation, and Security business area.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and implementation of secure IT systems and networks.
- Perform security monitoring and tuning to identify and mitigate threats.
- Participate in incident response, digital forensics, and loss prevention activities.
- Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments to identify security weaknesses.
- Develop and implement security controls and protocols.
- Research and recommend new security tools and technologies.
- Document security breaches and assess the resulting damage.
- Assist with the development of security policies and procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for incident response.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0-2 years of experience in IT security or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements, or a minimum of 4 years of related experience if you do not hold a degree.
- Preferred qualifications include certifications such as Security+, CISA, CASP+, MCSE, or CCNP Security.
- Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, or the aerospace/defense industry is a plus.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Lone Tree, Colorado.
- You will work in an office or hybrid environment.
- The role involves working at a computer for extended periods and may require occasional travel.
- You must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
