About the role#
This position is for 2026 interns. You will assist in developing and maintaining software systems for aerospace applications. You will work within the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Aviation, and Security business area. The role requires working on-site in Dayton, Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software components.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues.
- Write and maintain code documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Support the integration of software with hardware systems.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in software development.
- Basic proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
- Conceptual understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
- Internship or cooperative education experience in software development is preferred.
- Exposure to the Aerospace and Defense industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of languages such as C, C#, C++, HTML, Java, Python, and Bash.
- Experience with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, library and artifact repositories, and automated builds.
- Knowledge of development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral.
- Familiarity with data structures.
