About the role#
Ryan Transportation is looking for a Carrier Sales Intern for a 10-week summer program. This role focuses on building and managing a network of truckload and LTL providers across the United States and Canada. You will spend your time prospecting, cold calling, and qualifying new carrier accounts while learning the core aspects of the transportation sales business.
What you'll do#
- Solicit new carriers to join the Ryan Transportation network.
- Develop long-term relationships with shippers and carriers.
- Manage your carrier network to ensure shipping customer needs are met.
- Coordinate logistics tasks, such as scheduling delivery appointments and arrival dates.
- Track and trace orders in the system while completing all load-related paperwork.
- Learn negotiation skills and how to build professional sales relationships.
- Work with the Account Management team to secure capacity.
- Improve transit times, transportation costs, and customer service levels.
What you'll need#
- Current student with a graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Preferred majors include business, sales, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, or supply chain management.
- A strong desire to pursue a career in sales.
- Interest in the transportation or finance industries.
- Excellent time-management and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a self-motivated work ethic.
- Multilingual skills are a plus.
