About the role#
The Operational Excellence Summer 2026 Intern will gain hands-on experience within a food manufacturing environment. This paid internship allows students to work alongside skilled engineers on projects that directly impact plant operations. Participants will also engage in a structured internship program that includes executive speaker sessions, networking events, and professional development opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Focus on the optimization of manufacturing processes.
- Work on process improvements related to efficiency, productivity, process capability, risk, and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient manufacturing workflows.
What you'll need#
- Completed sophomore-level status or higher toward a BS degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology program. Preferred disciplines include Electrical, Automation, Mechanical, Chemical, Engineering Physics, or Manufacturing.
- Current enrollment as a student during the internship term.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2026.
- Willingness to relocate for the summer of 2026.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to take ownership of assignments and complete them accurately and on time.
- Reliable transportation.

- Compensation: $22.00 per hour.
- Relocation assistance is available if relocating 50 miles or more.
