Controls Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

About the role#

Schreiber Foods is seeking engineering students for a paid Controls Engineering internship during the Summer of 2026. This program provides hands-on experience within a food manufacturing environment, allowing interns to work alongside professional engineers on operational projects. Participants will also engage in a structured internship program featuring executive speakers, networking events, and professional development workshops.

What you'll do#

• Engage in the design, programming, and testing of automated control systems.
• Work with PLCs, HMIs, and robotics to enhance system performance.
• Collaborate on projects involving system integration and optimization.
• Take ownership of assignments to ensure accurate and timely completion.

What you'll need#

• Sophomore-level status or higher toward a BS degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology program (Electrical, Automation, Mechanical, Chemical, Engineering Physics, or Manufacturing preferred).
• Current enrollment as a student throughout the duration of the internship.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2026.
• Willingness to relocate for the summer.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for positions requiring travel.

• Locations: Green Bay, Beloit, and Richland Center, WI; Tempe, AZ; Grand Rapids, MI; Carthage, Clinton, Monett, and Mt. Vernon, MO; Shippensburg, PA; Stephenville, TX; Logan and Smithfield, UT.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: Paid internship at $22.00 per hour.
• Relocation assistance is provided for those relocating 50 miles or more.
