About the role#
Schnabel Engineering is hiring a full-time Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position focuses on expanding your practical knowledge by applying professional engineering principles to real-world projects under the guidance of senior staff. You will work as part of a team on projects involving tunnels and underground structures.
What you'll do#
- Apply professional principles, numerical models, and technical solutions to engineering problems.
- Assist in preparing CAD drawings for contract documents and project reports.
- Perform structural and geotechnical design calculations for tunnels, shafts, and excavation support systems.
- Participate in both office-based tasks and field work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor's program.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- A valid driver's license, as driving is a requirement of the role.
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.

- Schedule: Full-time, Summer 2027 (May through August).
