About the role#
Schnabel Engineering is seeking a full-time Civil Engineering intern for the summer of 2027. This position focuses on applying professional engineering principles to real-world projects under the supervision of senior staff. You will gain practical experience through a mix of office and field work.
What you'll do#
- Observe subsurface exploration and perform infiltration testing.
- Use GPS equipment for boring layouts.
- Conduct construction observation and materials testing at job sites.
- Perform laboratory testing.
- Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
- Assist engineers in the preparation of geotechnical reports and proposals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering.
- Computer literacy and good communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work outdoors and perform a variety of tasks.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- A valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
