About the role#
Schnabel Engineering is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This position focuses on applying professional engineering principles to real-world projects under the guidance of senior staff. You will gain practical experience in geotechnical, geostructural, and dam engineering through a mix of office and field work.
What you'll do#
- Assist with geotechnical investigations and analyses.
- Support the design of retaining walls and excavation support systems.
- Conduct hydrology and hydraulic studies.
- Perform reinforced concrete design and prepare construction plans.
- Support advanced earthquake engineering analyses.
- Perform construction observation and materials testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s program for Civil Engineering.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team under supervision.
- A valid driver’s license, as driving is required for this role.
- The physical ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
