About the role#
As an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Intern, you will join our Energy & Industrial Group for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on a project team to assist our Oil & Gas engineers with project execution. Assignments may include work on new designs, modifications, and upgrades for oil and gas upstream production, gas transmission, renewable energy, and carbon-capture projects. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to apply your academic background to real-world industrial challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and associated data for project reporting.
- Participate in system designs and the preparation of specifications for the procurement of major industrial energy equipment.
- Solve engineering problems using data and modern tools, including automation and AI, to improve workflows and reduce rework.
- Use engineering judgment to verify results when using automation or agentic AI tools for calculations and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Expected graduation date in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028 with a Bachelor or Masters degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Experience with programming or scripting, such as Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel, is valued.
