About the role#
This is a summer 2027 internship for a Substation Electrical Engineer within our Grid business unit. You will join a project team to support the execution of engineering work, including designs for transmission, substation, distribution, renewable, and battery energy storage systems. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to apply your academic background to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with engineering calculations, specifications, and design work.
- Track project activities, progress, and data for project reporting.
- Help prepare specifications for major electrical power equipment and installation services.
- Use modern tools and automation to solve engineering problems, improve workflows, and reduce rework.
- Apply agentic AI tools to tasks like drafting design documentation or summarizing technical documents, while maintaining strong engineering judgment.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science degree program in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering.
- Knowledge of design techniques and principles for creating technical plans, blueprints, and models.
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer assistance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with designing or developing AI applications or agents.

- Compensation: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour.
