About the role#
Motiva offers a paid internship program for students to gain experience in the oil and gas industry. You will work on projects matched to your skills and receive regular feedback from a supervisor and mentor. This role is a full-time, on-site position based in Port Arthur, Texas, for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support and assurance to operating units within the electrical engineering discipline.
- Participate in field activities, including troubleshooting electrical equipment.
- Conduct failure analysis and investigate the causes of electrical incidents.
- Develop solutions to technical problems.
- Collaborate with production teams and other support staff.
- Participate in the Management of Change process.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Basic computation and technical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office, and MS Excel.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment, which includes climbing ladders, navigating catwalks, and working at heights up to 50 feet.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and wear required Personal Protective Equipment, such as a respirator, hard hat, and safety glasses.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
