About the role#
Motiva offers a paid internship program for students interested in the oil and gas industry. You will gain hands-on experience through day-to-day involvement in projects matched to your skills. A supervisor and mentor will provide regular feedback and performance assessments throughout your term to help you evaluate a potential career path with the company. This is a full-time, on-site role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Complete 1-2 Control Systems projects to improve reliability and performance.
- Assist Control Systems Engineers with Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Monitor existing control systems to ensure they function at an optimal level.
- Troubleshoot control, safety, and information systems including both hardware and software.
- Ensure the technical integrity of plants and new projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office, and MS Excel.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

- This position is based on-site in Port Arthur, Texas, or Houston, Texas.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
