About the role#
Motiva Enterprises LLC offers a paid Summer 2026 internship for students interested in the oil and gas industry. This program provides hands-on experience through projects matched to your skills and interests. You will work with a supervisor and mentor who provide regular feedback to help you grow. Successful interns may be considered for future roles at the company.
What you'll do#
- Develop and implement a specific project defined by your supervisor.
- Assist staff chemists with special projects.
- Support the daily operation and maintenance of the laboratory section.
- Contribute to QA/QC programs.
- Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work in various plant areas, which requires climbing ladders, using catwalks, and navigating heights up to 50 feet.
- Use required personal protective equipment, including respirators, hard hats, and safety glasses.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a B.S. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency with MS Windows, MS Office, and MS Excel.
- Good laboratory housekeeping skills.
- Ability to learn vendor-specific software for tasks like spectra acquisition.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions logically.
- Valid work authorization in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position located in Port Arthur, Texas.
- Candidates must pass annual respirator fit testing due to the safety requirements of the role.
