About the role#
The Reservoir Engineering Technology team conducts applied research to improve the understanding of multiphase flow in porous media and formation evaluation. As a graduate intern, you will work on a defined research project under the guidance of experienced researchers. This role provides practical experience in an industrial research and development environment.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to research projects involving multiphase flow, formation evaluation, or petrophysical characterization.
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize relevant technical advances.
- Assist with laboratory experiments, technology evaluations, and workflow development.
- Explore topics such as transport properties, enhanced recovery, and fluid-rock interactions.
- Analyze experimental results and geological, petrophysical, or production data.
- Develop or modify code and research software to support modeling and data analysis.
- Apply engineering principles to investigate research questions and identify trends.
- Document methods, assumptions, and results to ensure reproducible research.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in technical discussions.
- Prepare a technical report and a final presentation of your findings.
- Follow all laboratory safety procedures and comply with company conduct and cybersecurity requirements.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, geoscience, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Current enrollment in a graduate program in one of these disciplines.
- Coursework or research experience in porous media, fluid flow, petrophysics, geomechanics, or reservoir engineering.
- Experience with laboratory experimentation, data analysis, or scientific computing.
- Familiarity with programming tools such as Python, C++, or MATLAB.
- The ability to review technical literature and communicate findings clearly in English.
- A professional approach, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
- Availability for the full summer 2027 term.
