About the role#
This paid internship program provides students with direct involvement in real projects within the oil and gas industry. You will work with a supervisor and mentor who provide regular performance feedback and assessments. The program is designed to help you gain technical experience and determine if a career with Motiva fits your goals. Successful interns may be considered for future returning internships or full-time roles.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical assurance overview and support for rotating equipment systems and documentation.
- Assist in the design and implementation of expense projects and small capital projects.
- Develop Opportunity Proposals and Investment Proposals for small capital projects.
- Provide engineering support for scope development, planning, and work execution of major maintenance projects and events.
- Champion Management of Change (MOC) by helping with cross-discipline communications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. program for Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office, and MS Excel.
- Strong time management skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Port Arthur, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Physical Requirements: You must be able to wear personal protective equipment, pass annual respirator fit testing, and navigate plant environments including ladders, scaffolds, and heights up to 50 feet. You may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
