About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product management professionals. You will gain hands-on experience with the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through production and field support. This role involves working in a manufacturing environment where you will apply engineering concepts to real-world technical and operational challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design, development, and improvement of new and existing products.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Participate in product testing, validation, and evaluation activities.
- Perform engineering calculations, collect data, and conduct analysis.
- Investigate technical issues and participate in root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support production processes and observe operations.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence initiatives, and Kaizen events.
- Collect and analyze manufacturing data, track KPIs, and assist with data visualization.
- Present project findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Previous manufacturing, technical, or design experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, or CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD is preferred.

- Compensation: This is a paid position.
- Environment: You will spend time in manufacturing areas and may be exposed to machinery, noise, and moving equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required in these zones. The role requires routine computer use, frequent walking, and standing during observations or meetings.
