About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You will support continuous improvement and optimization initiatives across assigned value streams. You will work alongside Engineering, Quality, Operations, Planning, and Procurement teams to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support production requirements. This role is an opportunity to apply engineering principles in a real-world production setting.
What you'll do#
- Analyze manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and product flow.
- Support process capability studies using data collection and analysis.
- Participate in facility layout and workflow improvement projects.
- Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Participate in Kaizen events and implement visual management or 5S improvements.
- Assist with process audits and the revision of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Analyze quality trends and participate in root cause analysis.
- Collect and organize manufacturing performance data for KPI tracking and reporting.
- Present findings and recommendations to engineering and operations teams.
- Promote safe work practices and participate in cross-functional team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior academic standing is preferred.
- Interest in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Previous manufacturing or technical internship experience is a plus.
- Exposure to ERP systems like SAP is a plus.
