About the role#
As an ADMS Co-Op or Intern, you will work with the systems that support our energy grid. You will learn to manage and improve the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) under the guidance of our team. This role involves working with a diverse technology portfolio, including Linux and Windows servers, Oracle and SQL databases, and GIS mapping systems.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support to system operators, engineering staff, and IT personnel.
- Create documentation and provide training as needed.
- Aggregate and model data to build reports and dashboards using BI tools like PowerBI, SSRS, and OBIEE.
- Analyze, test, and implement ADMS features.
- Design software enhancements and maintain application configuration settings.
- Support smart grid applications, including SCADA, power flow, fault locating, and outage management.
- Perform root cause analysis and help manage project backlogs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Experience with BI tools such as PowerBI, SSRS, or OBIEE.
- Knowledge of data aggregation and modeling techniques.
- Ability to provide technical support and communicate effectively with users.
