About the role#
The Kessler Scholars Program supports first-generation and limited-income students at Saint Mary's College. As a Student Assistant, you will help with daily operations, event programming, and student engagement. This role offers professional development in student affairs and peer mentorship while you support the Kessler Scholars community.
What you'll do#
- Greet and check in scholars during office hours and events.
- Set up and break down workshops, socials, and meetings.
- Manage attendance, sign-ins, and program materials.
- Create flyers, emails, and social media posts to promote events.
- Run campus errands like copying or delivering items.
- Provide administrative support to the Division for Belonging staff as needed.
- Act as a peer resource and representative for the program.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and regular meetings with your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Saint Mary's student (sophomore through senior standing preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and act reliably.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort working both independently and in a team.
- A positive attitude and commitment to supporting first-generation students.
- Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft Office, or Google Suite is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Notre Dame, Indiana.
- Schedule: 10 to 12 hours per week, Monday through Friday, flexible around your class schedule.
- This position is paid and open to current Saint Mary's students only.
