About the role#
The St. Margaret’s House Fellow supports the daily operations of a day center serving women and children living in economic poverty. This role coordinates volunteer efforts from Saint Mary’s College and assists with the functional needs of the center to ensure guests are treated with dignity and respect.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a Beyond the Belle Site Leader for St. Margaret’s House.
- Manage and supervise a weekly team of fellow students.
- Coordinate logistical details for the volunteer team and the center.
- Facilitate weekly team reflections and attend mandatory Site Leader meetings.
- Support daily operations, including kitchen setup and cleanup, guest services, and organizing in-kind donations.
- Assist with the supervision of children during programming.
- Act as a Saint Mary’s-approved driver to transport groups.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Saint Mary’s College with eligibility for Federal Work Study or Community Service.
- A valid driver’s license and comfort driving groups.
- Experience working with diverse populations using cultural humility.
- Commitment to learning and practicing trauma-informed care.
- Ability to lead group conversations and facilitate reflection.
- Physical ability to lift 40 lbs and remain on your feet for long periods.
- Strong organizational skills and a willingness to assist with daily tasks.
Location & details#
- Location: Notre Dame, Indiana.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Rolling term, standard office hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Employment type: Full-time, paid position.
